Here’s How it Works

• Affordable Fixed Price Art Sale - 600+ works of art by Bay Area artists will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis at a fixed price of $160 plus tax.
• Auction – The live and silent auctions will feature works of art donated by some of the region’s top artists, as well as hotel, spa and restaurant packages and other luxury items.
• Big (Blue) Deal Free Drawing – Numerous exciting prizes will be given away via a free drawing. Your sales card will be your drawing entry.

All proceeds from Big Deal benefit Visual Aids programs. Visual Aid encourages professional artists with life-threatening illnesses--such as AIDS and breast cancer--to continue their creative work by providing free art supplies, grants, exhibition opportunities and community.

Affordable Art Sale
A unique model where 600+ original works of art by famous and lesser-known artists alike are sold for the reasonable price of $160, in a “democratic,” first-come, first served basis. New and seasoned collectors line up for the opportunity to purchase exceptional paintings, prints, drawings, sculpture and photographs. Those who want to avoid the line can arrive late, and will still have the opportunity to choose from among hundreds of appealing works of art.

This year, a wall of blue artwork will be featured, along with fabulous works by Sandow Birk, Isabel Samaras, John Bonick, David Best, Peter Max Lawrence, Jan Nunn, Suzie Rashkis, and hundreds more, available for $160 each.

NEW This Year

Visual Aid will auction off the first 10 spots in line, to raise funds for Visual Aid’s grants for member artists. The auction will be held via email, beginning Monday, November

Due to the overwhelming number of supporters who camped out in the parking lot in previous years, camping is no longer allowed at SOMArts. Instead, we’ll be there at 5am on Big Deal day to open the gates and start the official line.
